What’s different about the AutoProPAD G2 / G2 Turbo versus the original AutoProPAD?

The AutoProPAD G2 / G2 Turbo is a complete reimagining of the original AutoProPAD concept, starting with a rugged metal case, upgraded processing power, increased memory, and an all-new user interface.

The new pre-scan and post-scan process gives you the perfect opportunity to check the vehicle for faults that may hinder the programming process and can show customers any existing vehicle issues. The integrated subscription timer lets you know how long remains on your subscription, so you don’t miss out on any important updates.

What cars can it program?

A list of Vehicle Applications has been created for you, but it is constantly changing as we add more features and encounter more vehicles.

How do I get updates?

  1. Connect your AutoProPAD to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. Click the menu button on the top-left and select Updates.
  3. There you will see all updates available and can simply click each one, or click the “Update All” button to get your device updated.

Please check for updates frequently. We recommend checking it weekly since updates are being added at a fairly fast pace.

What happens when my subscription ends?

Your AutoProPAD includes a free year of unlimited updates.

When your subscription ends, you can continue to use your unit like normal, but any new updates will not be available to download. Also, on-the-vehicle technical support is only available to users with an active subscription. Please note that when your subscription ends, you have 30 days to renew your subscription. If you fall outside of a subscription for more than 30 days, if you decide to renew again, you will be charged a $150 reactivation fee.

At $600/year, or $50/month, it’s silly to not just keep your subscription active.

What kind of warranty is included?

The manufacturer provides a 1-year limited warranty against defects (not physical damage), covering parts and labor (usually not shipping).

Do the other machines made by XTool have the same capabilities as the AutoProPAD?

The AutoProPAD line of machines is indeed different than other XTool machines you may see on sale in other countries. The AutoProPAD is the only XTool machine made for locksmiths in the US market and includes extra OBD2 and EEPROM programming software specific to United States vehicles.

The cheaper devices such as the PS80, PS90, X100PAD, or X100 have some of the same hardware but mainly performs only the advanced vehicle diagnostic functions that a typical auto shop might use. For instance, the AutoProPAD machines are the only tools made by XTool that include programming for Toyota G, Toyota H, Toyota Smart Keys, Chrysler 200 systems, most Chrysler PIN code reads, VW/Audi all-keys-lost programming, Honda Prox, and many others.

Please do not be fooled by sellers that tell you their less expensive XTool machines can program the same vehicles.

How to factory reset my AutoProPAD

Note: Must have active subscription on the machine in order to re-install software after factory data reset.

Has your AutoProPAD been lost or stolen? Report it today!

We are aware that AutoProPAD theft has become a real-world problem and we are doing our best to try to accommodate customers that have reported their device stolen. AutoProPAD warranty does not cover products that have been reported as lost or stolen; however, we can temporarily shut down or lock down your device to keep the key programming functions from being accessed. If/when the device is recovered, you must contact Lock Labs in order to unlock this device.

This information from this form will be kept on file in the event your device has been recovered and will increase your chances of having your device properly returned to you. Immediate reporting can also help eliminate unauthorized use.
