- Connect your AutoProPAD to a Wi-Fi network.
- Click the menu button on the bottom-left and select Updates.
- There you will see all updates available and can simply click each one, or click the “Update All” button to get your device updated.
Tip: Check weekly. Updates are frequent, but you’ll need an active subscription to download them.
- You can still use your AutoProPAD normally.
- You will not receive new updates.
- On-vehicle tech support ends without an active subscription.
- Any programming requiring server use will stop working.

As of now, nothing can perform key learning functions for GM CAN-FD vehicles or Ford FDRS-only vehicles outside of their respective dealer tools. Lock Labs is working toward a solution, so check back later.
You can program a wide selection of vehicles without paying per token. Unlike some other programmers, the AutoProPAD can still program keys and remotes for Ford, Toyota, and GM.

No. The AutoProPAD line is designed specifically for US locksmiths. It includes extra OBD2 and EEPROM programming software for US vehicles and localized updates that other XTool devices don’t have.

Mercedes: No, not in its current form. If you are interested in working on European cars, please invest in a class, first.
BMW: Yes, on early 2000s models—but you will need strong knowledge of European automotive locksmithing to safely and comfortably perform these procedures.
- To delete/reinstall individual modules: long-press the manufacturer name (GM, Toyota, Honda, etc.). Requires active subscription.

We are aware that AutoProPAD theft has become a real-world problem and we are doing our best to try to accommodate customers that have reported their device stolen. AutoProPAD warranty does not cover products that have been reported as lost or stolen; however, we can temporarily shut down or lock down your device to keep the key programming functions from being accessed. If/when the device is recovered, you must contact Lock Labs in order to unlock this device.
To report your AutoProPAD as lost or stolen, please fill out the Device Stolen Form.
This information from this form will be kept on file in the event your device has been recovered and will increase your chances of having your device properly returned to you. Immediate reporting can also help eliminate unauthorized use.

No. Unlike competitors, we focus solely on automotive key programming.
Check the Date & Time settings. The default is China Standard Time—change it to your local time zone.
The G3 machines require a server connection at least once every 24 hours. If you go past this time without connecting to the servers, you will be restricted from using the AutoProPAD.
- You may also need to check the Date & Time settings on your machine. By default, the machines are set to China Standard Time. You will need to change it to your local time-zone to fix this and other errors.
- Connect the wireless VCI to the red split OBDII cable included with the tool.
- Plug the other end into the desired bypass cable.
- Connect 12V power to the barrel jack using the included adapter.
Older generations are showing their age. New hardware ensures:

The AutoProPAD G2 / G2 Turbo is a complete reimagining of the original AutoProPAD concept, starting with a rugged metal case, upgraded processing power, increased memory, and an all-new user interface.
The new pre-scan and post-scan process gives you the perfect opportunity to check the vehicle for faults that may hinder the programming process and can show customers any existing vehicle issues. The integrated subscription timer lets you know how long remains on your subscription, so you don’t miss out on any important updates.

Please check for updates frequently. We recommend checking it weekly since updates are being added at a fairly fast pace.
Your AutoProPAD includes a free year of unlimited updates.
When your subscription ends, you can continue to use your unit like normal, but any new updates will not be available to download. Also, on-the-vehicle technical support is only available to users with an active subscription. Please note that when your subscription ends, you have 30 days to renew your subscription. If you fall outside of a subscription for more than 30 days, if you decide to renew again, you will be charged a $150 reactivation fee.

The AutoProPAD line of machines is indeed different than other XTool machines you may see on sale in other countries. The AutoProPAD is the only XTool machine made for locksmiths in the US market and includes extra OBD2 and EEPROM programming software specific to United States vehicles.
The cheaper devices such as the PS80, PS90, X100PAD, or X100 have some of the same hardware but mainly performs only the advanced vehicle diagnostic functions that a typical auto shop might use. For instance, the AutoProPAD machines are the only tools made by XTool that include programming for Toyota G, Toyota H, Toyota Smart Keys, Chrysler 200 systems, most Chrysler PIN code reads, VW/Audi all-keys-lost programming, Honda Prox, and many others.
